Weddings — If you meet our wedding policy guidelines (download here), please contact the Parish Office at least one year before your desired wedding date. The Diocese of Kalamazoo does not allow for Catholic weddings to take place outside. Since this practice governs members of St. Basil Church, we do not authorize any other weddings on church property.
Becoming a Catholic — The process by which anyone who is unbaptized or baptized in another Christian tradition is exciting and life-giving. We start the process when you are ready to begin. God has been journeying with you for a while and we are happy to journey with you, listening to God with you to determine where God is calling you. Our process begins with inquiry where you are invited to contact us. Then, we welcome you to informal gatherings in the homes of our parishioners where we share refreshments, break open our journeys in the context of Catholic tradition, and answer any questions that you have. Our inquiry sessions are based on a “Come and See” model where you may come for one or more sessions; yet if you choose to not return, that is fine. Our parish is always open to you. Thus, to get started whenever you are ready, please contact Geralyn Monacelli (269-637-6714 or geralynmonacelli@yahoo.com).
Children’s Faith Formation – This program is open to all elementary age children who seek to learn more about our living faith and achieve a deeper relationship with God. The program begins in September and runs through May. For more information contact Margie Little, Director of Youth Religious Education, at 269-637-2404, ext. 1114 or mlittledre@gmail.com.
Virtus Program: Protecting God’s Children — As a church, we value the safety of children in our care, our employees, and volunteers and the people whom we serve. We take prudent measures to protect our human and material resources. Therefore, the Diocese mandates that criminal history background checks be conducted for all employees and volunteers who have unsupervised contact with a child, the elderly, or persons with disabilities. Any employee or volunteer also has to be properly trained. Click on this link to find a Virtus program near you.
Church Bulletins — Every week the Church bulletin is published and shared with parishioners. If you would like something published in the bulletin, please submit your request in writing to the church office, contact our bulletin editor Cecilia Wondergem, 269-637-2404 or by email cwondergem@saintbasilcatholicchurch.org by 12:00 noon on Sunday. Information for the church bulletin boards must be reviewed by the church office as well, so kindly stop by before posting anything.
Celiac Sufferers — Low gluten hosts are available for those who require it. Please contact Father Richard at the parish office to make arrangements.
